The Spirit of Elijah and Justice for the Orphan
Mal. 4:5 “See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. 6
He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I
will come and strike the land with a curse.”
I. GOD’S END-TIME STRATEGY TO PREPARE THE EARTH FOR HIS COMING IS TO
RELEASE THE FORERUNNER SPIRIT UPON HIS CHURCH IN ORDER TO HEAL
GLOBAL FATHERLESSNESS AND BRING ABOUT A GLOBAL HARVEST.
A. The man Elijah is coming
Matt. 17:11 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things. 12 But I tell
you, Elijah has already come, (John the baptist) and they did not recognize him
B. The forerunner spirit that prepares the way of the Lord is the Father’s heart turned towards
children. This is the spirit of Elijah.
Luke 1:17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the
hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous — to
make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
C. Fatherlessness produces lawlessness.
D. In the generation of the Lord’s return, lawlessness will abound and the nations will be led by a
man called the “lawless one”.
Matthew 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
2Th. 2:8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with
the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of the
lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit
miracles, signs and wonders …
II. ASPECTS OF THE DAY OF THE LORD
A. The Lord will rise and come with a shout and cry for justice.
Isaiah 42:13 The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a
man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies.

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the
archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
B. A global worship movement stirs the Lord and triggers the 2nd coming.
Is. 42:10 Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go
down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them. … 12 Let them
give glory to the LORD and proclaim his praise in the islands. 13 The LORD will march out
like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle
cry and will triumph over his enemies.
C. The rapture is a part of the 2nd coming and occurs at the 7th trumpet
1Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be
changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet
will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
D. When Jesus returns he will come with the clouds
Rev. 1:7 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who
pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
1Th. 4:17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in
the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
E. After appearing in the sky, Jesus will march from Sinai back to Jerusalem and wage physical war
on his enemies.
Is. 63:1 Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson?
Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength? “It is I,
speaking in righteousness, mighty to save.” 2 Why are your garments red, like those of one
treading the winepress?
3 “I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with me. I trampled them
in my anger and trod them down in my wrath; their blood spattered my garments, and I
stained all my clothing. 4 For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my
redemption has come.

Revelation 19:11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on
him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His
eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that
no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped (entirely covered, stained)
in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in
fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a
sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a
rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Hab. 3:12 In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations.
F. As he marches through the land he releases earthquakes, rain, and hailstones
Ezek. 38:18 This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot
anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign LORD. 19 In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare
that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 The fish of the sea,
the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all
the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be
overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground. 21 I will summon a
sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign LORD. Every man’s sword
will be against his brother. 22 I will execute judgment upon him with plague and bloodshed; I
will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and
on the many nations with him.
Rev. 16:18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe
earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so
tremendous was the quake. 19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations
collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the
fury of his wrath. 20 Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found. 21 From
the sky huge hailstones of about a hundred pounds each fell upon men.
G. The kings of the earth in alliance with the Antichrist will wage war against Jesus.
Psa. 2:1 Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth
take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed
One. 3 ….
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your
possession. 9 You will rule them with an iron scepter; you will dash them to pieces like
pottery.” 10 Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the
LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be
destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment.

Rev. 17:12 “The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but
who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. 13 They have one
purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 They will make war against
the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings —
and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”
Ezek. 38:22 I will execute judgment upon him (Antichrist) with plague and bloodshed; I will
pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the
many nations with him.
H. After waring with the nations, Jesus will enter Jerusalem and reign from Zion as the King of
Kings.
Psa. 2:6-8 “I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill.” 7 I will proclaim the decree of the
LORD: He said to me, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father. 8 Ask of me, and
I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
Psa. 48:1 Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy
mountain. 2 It is beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth. Like the utmost heights
of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King.
III. PSALM 68
A. Who is God in the midst of this intense, end-time drama? He reveals himself as a father.
Psa. 68:5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
B. God wants to Father the fatherless nations through us. We are His dwelling.
1Cor. 3:16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in
you
C. God’s end time strategy is to set the lonely, forsaken, and orphaned into worshipping families so
that they can be delivered, restored and rise as a generation who prepares the way of the Lord.
Psa. 68:6 God sets the lonely in families (Hebrew “bayit”), he leads forth the prisoners with
singing; …
Josh. 24:15 … But as for me and my household (“bayit”), we will serve the LORD.”
Isaiah 58:6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?

7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house (bayit) the
poor who are cast out
IV. TRUE RELIGION
James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans
and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
A. One reason taking care of widows and orphans in their distress is “true religion” is because when
we do, we are acting like God.
V. A CULTURE OF LIFE
A. Reese Howells said that we only have authority in intercession in areas we are willing to be the
answer.
B. We will see a spirit of death, slavery and abortion overcome in the world is when the church
operates in the spirit of adoption.
1. The “spirit of adoption” means real adoption is manifested. Unless we partner with God
in setting the orphan and widow into families, setting them free through singing, and
equipping them to prepare the way of the Lord, we are not forerunners.
2. Having a “heart” for something does not equal obedience regarding that issue.

His Elect’s Perpetual Cry for Justice at the End of the Age
Exposition of Luke 18:1-8

18:1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,
2 saying: "There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.
3 Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying,
'Get justice for me from my adversary.'
4 And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, 'Though I do not fear God nor regard man,
5 yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her,
lest by her continual coming she weary me.' "
6 Then the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said.
7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him,
though He bears long with them?
8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily.
Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"  (Luke 18:1-8)

I.                   jesus’ parable of the unjust judge and persistent widow (v. 1-8)

A.    The main themes of the parable (v.1)

1.   Men always ought to pray
2.   Not lose heart
3.   In the context of highly unfavorable circumstances
4.   God will avenge His elect with speedy justice.

B.     The main characters in the parable

1.   An unjust judge who neither fears God nor regards man
2.   A widow who comes pleading for justice
3.   An adversary

C.    The main events in the parable

1.   There was an unjust judge in a certain city who did not fear God nor man.
2.   There came a persistent widow pleading for justice against her adversary.
3.   The judge would not grant her justice.
4.   The widow persisted in the pleading for justice night and day.
5.   The judge changes his mind and begins to consider granting the widow the justice due.
6.   The judge was not motivated by the sense of justice, but by the need to not be troubled and wearied by the widow’s persistent pleading for justice.
7.   The widow received her justice speedily.

D.    The main truth in the parable

1.   Speedy justice is released through the night and day cry of His elect.
2.   The Lord bears long with the elect.
3.   Justice is released in the form of avenging (vengeance).
4.   The Son of man will come.
5.   The Son of man desires to find faith on the earth when He returns.

E.     The main challenge from the parable

1.   Hear what the unjust judge said.
2.   Shall the Son of man find faith on the earth when He returns?

II.                Jesus’ scriptural challenge to the end-time church (v.8)

A.    When the Son of man returns, will there be elect on the earth who have faith like the persistent widow who cries out night and day?

B.     Will there be elect on the earth who will release speedy justice on their adversary through their persistent faith?

C.    Will there be elect on the earth who faithfully hasten the return of the Son of man?

III.             Jesus’ prophetic call to the end-time church

A.    Pervasive injustice at the end of age.
(theft, murder, sexual immorality, sorcery, Rev. 9:20)

B.     Presence of human justice system that lacks respect for human dignity and fear of God. (measured by a legal foundation and structure that is not undergirded by biblical morality)

11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. (Matt. 24:11-14)

C.    Many elect who suffered loss at the end of age cry out for justice night and day.
(It will be a heaven and earth reality. Rev. 5:8-13)

9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" 11 Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.  (Rev. 6:9-11)

D.    Cry for justice of the elect results in the speedy justice (revenge) through the wrath of God. (Rev. 5:8, 15:7, 16)

E.     God, the Just One, is the avenger of His elect.
(Acts 7:52, Acts 22:14, Acts 17:31, Rev. 15-16)

F.     Longsuffering and forbearance of the Just One.

20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. (1 Peter 3:20)

9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

G.    The presence of the global church in Bridal identity is full of faith at the coming of the Son of man, expressing night and day prayer and worship in agreement with heavenly saints.

16  I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star." 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. (Rev. 22:16-17)

Triumph of Justice: Partnering with Jesus in His Ministry (Isa. 42)
I.                   introduction
A.                Justice is making wrong things right. The Hebrew word for justice “mishpat" speaks of social order as well as legal equity. The Great Commission is a call to disciple all nations (Mt. 28:19). This transformational mandate involves establishing justice in all seven spheres of society. The utopian dream of a world filled with justice and blessing has been in the human spirit since Eden.
B.                 Isaiah prophesied about justice more than any other in Scripture (Isa. 1:17, 27; 2:2-4; 9:6-7; 16:5; 28:6; 28:17; 30:18; 32:1, 16; 33:5; 42:1, 3, 4; 51:4; 56:1; 61:8). In Isaiah 42, the prophet gave his premier prophecy on the way in which worldwide justice will triumph under Jesus’ leadership. Jesus’ ministry is seen in context to Isaiah 42 (Mt. 3:17, 12:18, 17:5; Lk. 18:7-8).
1 Behold! My Servant…My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles4 He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law. (Isa. 42:1-4)
C.                 In the end times, the subject of justice is a primary focus in both God’s and Satan’s kingdoms. The false justice movement is rooted in idolatry of humanism or occultism (harlot Babylon).
D.                Litmus test: Isaiah 42 provides the clearest biblical model for partnering with Jesus’ mandate to establish justice in all the nations. Our approach to justice must be in deep allegiance to Jesus (Isa. 42:8), released by intercessory worship (Isa. 42:10-12), and operating in the Spirit’s power (Isa. 42:1, 7) resulting in evangelism (Isa. 42:17) and support for the remnant of Israel (Isa. 42:7, 22) from lives of righteousness energized by intimacy with God (Isa. 42:1, 6). This requires cultivating the forerunner spirit in our works of justice (Isa. 42:16-25).
E.                 It is essential to prioritize justice and approach it in the way in which the Scripture teaches us. One of the most important moments in IHOP-KC’s history was on September 19, 2009, when we committed by the grace of God to combine 24/7 prayers for justice with 24/7 works of justice.
F.                  In the parables of the kingdom (Mt. 13), Jesus taught that the nature of the kingdom in this age was to start as a seed that grows in context to increasing darkness with mixed responses.
1.                  Jesus released justice partially at His first coming, caused it to increase throughout Church history, and will cause it to fully triumph after the second coming in the millennial kingdom.
2.                  There is significant continuity of our labors now with what Jesus will do in the
millennial kingdom. Justice is released in different measures of victory in different geographic areas and in different spheres of society. In other words, in some places it will be much stronger than in other places.
G.                The context for this parable on intercession is injustice in the end times (Lk. 17:22-18:8). Jesus is making reference to Isa. 42:1-4 when the messiah releases justice in the earth. The main context of this parable on intercession is for justice in light of the Antichrist’s cruel oppression.
26 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank…until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood [judgment] came and destroyed them all30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed…34 In that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken [destroyed in judgment] and the other will be left…" 37 They…said to Him, "Where, Lord?" He said to them, "Wherever the body is, there the eagles [vultures, NAS] will be gathered together." (Lk. 17:26-37)

1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart…7 Shall God not avenge [bring about justice, NAS] His own elect who cry out day and night to Him…” 8 I tell you that He will avenge [bring about justice, NAS] them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith [agreement] on the earth?" (Lk. 18:1-8)

9 I saw…the souls of those who had been slain [martyred] for the word of God…10 They cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" (Rev. 6:9-10)
1.                  Everyone knows that the release of justice involves political processes and practical works. Jesus added that it would require night and day prayer to deal with injustice in the spirit realm.
2.                  Jesus spoke of the acceleration of injustice in the end times, highlighting the need to deal with it in the spirit realm. He was saying that injustice will not be sufficiently answered by political changes and social action (compassion) because the primary source of injustice is spiritual (demonic).
3.                  When Jesus asked if He would find faith on earth when He returns, He was asking if He would find “agreement” that injustice must be addressed with night and day prayer.
II.                Jesus is the Father’s answer to injustice.

1 Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles [to all nations]. (Isa. 42:1)
A.                Isaiah declares the inevitable triumph of justice in four statements that reveal the Father’s plan.
1) Jesus is the victorious one who will bring justice to all nations.
2) Jesus is the servant whom the Father upholds (the One the Father works through).
3) Jesus is the anointed one whom the Spirit empowers. It takes supernatural power to impart it.
4) Jesus is the elect one in whom the Father delights. It flows from intimacy with God (v. 1, 6)
6 I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles… (Isa. 42:6)
B.                 Isaiah described Jesus approach to justice at His first coming (Isa. 42:2-4). He did not lift His voice in the street in a political or military uprising (v. 2). He causes justice to prevail while offering mercy to all who seek Him (v. 3). He bore the same resistance, but was steadfast (v. 4).
2 He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.
3 A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. 4 He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law." (Isa. 42:2-4)
C.                 The Father speaks to the Son assuring Him for intimate partnership unto victory (Isa. 42:6-8). Righteousness is seen in each stage of the Father’s work (in methods, motives, and fruit). Jesus is the means of the covenant we have with God. He embodies all that pertains to it.
6 I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep [sustain] You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles, 7 to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house. 8 I am the LORD, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images. (Isa. 42:6-8)
D.                The greatest false religion of idolatry will emerge on the earth related to the Antichrist.
20 But the rest of mankind…did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone… (Rev. 9:20)

15 Cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. (Rev. 13:15)
III.             the end-time worship and prayer movement (Isa. 42:9-13)

9 Behold…new things I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them." 10 Sing to the LORD a new song, and His praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you coastlands and you inhabitants of them! 11 Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. 12 Let them give glory to the LORD, and declare His praise in the coastlands. 13 The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies. (Isa. 42:9-13)
A.                God reveals His plan through prophecy then releases it by intercessory worship.
New song: the place that heaven and earth first join in dynamic connection is in worship
B.                 From the ends of the earth: in the worldwide worship Isaiah highlights five most challenging areas that will join in the end-time worship and prayer movement.
1) Go down to the sea: includes the islands of the earth
2) Coastlands
: includes the major population centers on the coastlands of the earth

3) Wilderness: includes the small cities in the wilderness and desert regions of the earth
4) Villages of Kedar and Sela: Islamic villages in Jordan (Sela) and Saudi Arabia (Kedar).
Kedar is a collective name for Arab tribes (Isa 21:16; 60:7; Jer 2:10; 49:28; Ezek 27:21).
5) Mountain tops: a difficult place to assemble people for worship and prayer
IV.             Jesus’ second coming: judgment against oppressors (Isa. 42:13-15)

13 The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies. 14 "I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now I will cry like a woman in labor, I will pant and gasp at once. 15 I will lay waste the mountains and hills [earthquakes], and dry up all their vegetation [drought]; I will make the rivers coastlands [earthquakes], I will dry up the pools.” (Isa. 42:13-15)
A.                Jeremiah saw the Lord roaring in context to the events related to Jesus’ second coming.
30 The LORD will roar from on high….He will give a shout, as those who tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. 31 A noise will come to the ends of the earth-- For the LORD has a controversy with the nations; He will plead His case with all flesh. He will give those who are wicked to the sword…32 Behold, disaster shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the farthest parts of the earth. (Jer. 25:30-32)
B.                 Jesus will stop oppressors (v. 14). We do not need a judge until we see cruel oppressors.
C.                 Isaiah highlighted earthquakes and drought. Jesus will show His power over the sky (drought) and earth (earthquakes that dramatically change the topography). Earthquakes in the end times: Isa. 2:10, 19, 21; 13:13; 29:6; Ezek. 38:19; Hag. 2:6, 21; Zech. 14:4-5; Heb. 12:26-27; Rev. 6:14; 8:5; 11:13; 16:18-20.
18 There was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth… (Rev. 16:18)

6 These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy. (Rev. 11:6)
V.                need for Forerunners to arise (Isa. 42:16-25): the most emphasized theme

16 I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known…These things I will do for them, and not forsake them. 17 They shall be turned back [evangelism]…who say to the molded images, 'You are our gods.' 18 "Hear, you deaf; and look, you blind, that you may see. 19 Who is blind but My servant, or deaf as My messenger whom I send? Who is blind as he who is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant? 20 Seeing many things, but you do not observe; opening the ears, but he does not hear." (Isa. 42:16-20)

21 The LORD is well pleased for His righteousness' sake; He will exalt the law [Word]… (Isa. 42:21)

22 But this is a people robbed and plundered; all of them are snared in holes, and they are hidden in prison houses; they are for prey, and no one delivers; for plunder, and no one says, "Restore!"
23 Who among you will give ear to this? Who will listen and hear for the time to come? (Isa. 42:22-23)

24 Who gave Jacob for plunder, and Israel to the robbers? Was it not the LORD, He against whom we have sinned? For they would not walk in His ways, nor were they obedient to His law. 25 Therefore He has poured on him the fury of His anger and the strength of battle; it has set him on fire all around, yet he di d not know; and it burned him, yet he did not take it to heart. (Isa. 42:24-25)

Closing My Message on Salvation With Animated Pics

I preached a salvation message and possibly 40 or so prayed to repent of their sins and receive Jesus. I will see what kind of fruit is produced in the up and coming months.

 First Sunday Morning Church Service

Yesterday Saturday we had around fifty children and adults show up for Kidz 4 Jesus.
This morning was the first Sunday morning church service of an unexpected church plant. God spoke to me to ask if they wanted one on Sunday mornings and many did as they were to busy trying to survive that to get ready and go away to a church. So we gave them church there as we will every Sunday morning. We started out only with mostly children and a couple adults but ended with a total of about 30-35 people. I think this is good for the first time as we are going against a strong religious tradition for most of them. It's hard for people to accept change to something new but they responded well.

Ministry is growing very fast as well as the need as we are having them revealed to us.

This morning after our first Sunday morning church service at the little village in the Barangay where we minister to the children I was made aware of some great needs.

YUCK?

Before the service I noticed that many of the children were scratching their heads and some picking through each others hair. It was so bad I began to itch thinking I knew what was going on. LICE! YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOUBLE YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the meeting I asked some of the mothers what were the greatest needs that were there. They said rice was the greatest need, for food to eat. Then of course the lice and then one held up their little baby girl to me to show me these deep festering wounds which were ant bites. I've suffered a few of these and they burn and itch and take forever to heal.
Another need I saw was the need for some of the little ones for clothing and sandals. By the grace of God with my limited provision I will meet these needs as best as possible but also teach them in the coming months what the Bible says about prospering.

Meeting the Need
Yesterday Elijah's Cry met the needs we saw Sunday to the best of our abilities.
It's really amazing how I am being supported to live here in the Philippines, pay my bills back in the US every month and help a few hungry and hurting people here with only 4-5 monthly regular supporters. Now it's very tight and I have to stay on budget but by God's grace I do it. Can you imagine what I could do if 100 more gave monthly? The need here is real and people are hungry for food and God.

150 Kilos/330lbs of Rice Given Away

We gave 30 families 5 Kilos/11lbs of rice each. I started out with only 100 kilos but as the word spread I had to joyfully go buy another 50 kilos. It isn't much but it will feed them for a day or two and help them a lot. All of them were very thankful and very happy to receive.
Elijah's Cry is a give a fish and teach to fish ministry. We show our love with actions to help needs and also teach the word of God on how to be able to personally walk in God's provision. So by the grace of God this little ministry fed over 120 people for a couple of day. Just imagine what we can do once we have hundreds of more supporters and intercessors?

The Lice Will Die This Weekend

Today I bought Lice Killer Shampoo for 20 plus children and some
medicine for the babies who have festering ant bites.
I will pass this out this Saturday at the Kidz4Jesus meeting.
Please keep praying and giving so I can help many many more. This group I'm ministering to is just a small hand full out of tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands on these two islands who need Jesus and physical help.

Christmas in the Philippines
It's just a few days before my first Christmas in the Philippines. Christmas is a big deal here as the stores have had out Christmas stuff and music since I arrived. I was told this begins in September every year.

My last update was a while ago because of travels but I've just sent out the December e-News Brief informing everyone on all that has been happening up to the date I sent it.

Radio Program Possible
I am going to visit a local radio station next week to discuss a half hour to hour program on Sunday afternoons beginning on January 8, 2012. Please keep this in your prayers.

Where Did the Bajau Go?
Yesterday I went to Tagbilaran City to minister to the Bajau but they were no where to be found. I think they might have been run out of the city because of the holidays and many of the Filipinos despise them because they are Filipino and they beg on the streets.

First Children's Ministry on Our Little Island, Panglao
This morning I printed some children's tracts from a website on Jesus' birthday, added to them the tract I had made last month for the parents and with a bag of small chocolate bars went out to find some children. I found a group of about 8-10 children and got permission from one of the mothers in a hut to give them the candy and tracts. They enjoyed and seem to like me the white foreigner. I got permission to return soon for more substantial ministry on a regular basis. A couple days ago as I road through the small town of Panglao God spoke to me to begin children's ministry there. A Filipino here told me to go in the future to the Barangay captain and get permission to do ministry weekly.
*A barangay (Filipino: baranggay, [baran' gai]) is the smallest administrative division in the Philippines and is the native Filipino term for a village, district or ward. Municipalities and cities are composed of barangays, and they may be further subdivided into smaller areas called purók (English: zone), and sitio, which is a territorial enclave inside a barangay, especially in rural areas
(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
The plan now is to reach out on the weekends to 2-4 Brangays here on Panglao beginning in January 2012.
At the end of my time with the children a lady in a very small hut called out to me for prayer. She had a very high fever. I prayed in Jesus Name and the fever was gone.
While on my way home today from the children's ministry I had some guys in their early 20's yell out to me. This happens a lot. I turned around and spoke to them and gave them tracts and gave them my phone number to text me. They were drinking so I will wait a couple day to contact them to see if they want to hear more about what I have to say. Then since I had a couple tracts and some candy left I stopped along the road and gave them to 3 girls who looked like they were in grade school. Everyone seemed to be very thankful for what I gave them, even the drunk guys.

Yesterday just 5 minutes before I was to leave to go to the ship I would be sailing on last night I got a call canceling the voyage until Wednesday because of some problem they were fixing on the ship. Thank God for His protection.

Praying to Bring Life to a Spiritual Dead Zone
Since I'm been here I can't remember one time feeling the presence of God even so slightly. Today I realized by the grace of God I was living on a small island with no God at all. Bohol has a very strong religious influence over it but here on Panglao there is nothing. No God. Not even a fake one. This island is a spiritual dead zone, a wasteland, desert place and wilderness. It's hard to pray and even desire God, it's so bad.

Well this morning by the unction of the Holy Spirit I put on the compilation of revival messages called Revival Fire 1 and began to finally in weakness call out to God using the word of God I know. Within a half an hour He was here and the fire had fallen in my apartment and on me. I will teach more about this soon. So God's Presence is here now finally with me and there is at least a small open heaven to begin with. Thank You, Jesus!
It's all about relationship and history with Him.

Trip to Cagayan and Gingoog
First I must apologize to those who might have tried to give to this ministry through PayPal. I've called twice and they give me lame answers as to why credit cards aren't being accepted. I have set up a Google Checkout account which, God willing will be working buy the 18th.
Tomorrow I travel on a ferry overnight to Cagayan to go personally to the dump-site to see whatever God desired to reveal to me. I will be there in the city fo 2 days.
Then on Thursday morning I will take a bus to go to Gingoog to visit with Pastor Condeza and family and possibly minister in their church and on the streets to some children.

A Very Sobering Experience
Today I went to the streets in the city to feed the street children again. It was going well as they swamped me eventually but I needed more snacks. I went to a fruit stand to buy some oranges and they had followed me. All of a sudden from no where a man with a small rubber whip began to hit them and drive them away as if they were animals. By the grace of God I kept my mouth shut because this isn't my country and I'm subject to their authority. He was some type of city official with a tee shirt with a title on it and I guess in charge of keeping the streets in order. Maybe he thought he was helping me because I don't think he knew I was feeding them. Then it got worse as I walked around the block to try to find them off the main street and give them more food. Across the street there was a long line at the ATM at the mall and the look of disdain they had for me as I gave a way the rest of the little bit of food, suprised me.
Today I saw that many of the Filipinos despised and maybe even hated these street kids and the few adults and wanted nothing to do with them. It was a very sobering experience but I will use it in prayer now.

God spoke to me about making tracts to pass out whenever I'm out and about. By God's provision there was enough finances in the bank to buy a new printer, ink and paper. I have made a tract mostly from a www.raycomfort.com tract which uses the Law of God. I am also having it translated into the Cebuano language. One side with English and on the other side with Cebuano, so locals and foreigners can both be blessed with the good news.
Here is the simple tract below. Fell free to use for your own evangelism.

At Alona Beach Today

God’s Perfect Love for You
John 3: 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

The God of the universe loves you so much He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ down from heaven to earth to die for you.
Romans 3: 23  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 5: 12  Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—
The first man Adam sinned and  all have sinned against God by breaking God’s commands.
Romans 6: 23  For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Sin has a reward of God’s punishment in hell but Jesus Christ have given us a way out.
 Exodus 20 lists God’s commandments
  1. You shall have no other gods before Me. (Have you always loved God above all else?)
  2. You shall not make yourself an idol. (Have you made a god in your mind that you're more comfortable with, a god to suit yourself?)
  3. You shall not take God's name in vain. (Have you ever used God's holy Name as a cuss word?)
  4. Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy.
  5. Honor your father and mother.
  6. You shall not murder. (God considers hatred to be as murder).
  7. You shall not commit adultery. ("Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" Matthew 5:27-28; this also includes sex before marriage).
  8. You shall not steal. (Have you ever stolen anything? the value of the item is irrelevant).
  9. You shall not lie. (Have you lied even once? Including answering these questions).
  10. You shall not covet. (Have you ever jealously desired what belongs to others?)
  11. The Bible says that God will punish all murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, adulterers, etc. He will even judge our words and thoughts. On Judgment Day, will you be found to be guilty or innocent of breaking His commandments?
Perhaps you think that God is good, and will therefore overlook your sins. But it is His goodness that will make sure that murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, etc. receive justice. He would be a corrupt Judge if He turned a blind eye to injustice. Have you kept the Commandments?                                                                                                                                                                   The Bible says that the Law is perfect. It commands you to be perfect (Matthew 5:48). Are you perfect (in thought, word, and deed)? Will you make it to Heaven? You may say that you are still good, but God says you're not (see Psalm 14:2-3). So one of you is lying, and the Scriptures tell us that it is impossible for God to lie. Remember that all liars will be cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:8). God's Law demands justice, and the penalty for sinning against Him is death and Hell. Listen carefully if you want to live. God Himself made a way where His justice and His goodness could meet. We broke the Law, but He became a man to pay the fine. Jesus suffered and died on the cross to satisfy the Law. God can forgive us and grant us the gift of everlasting life! But you may still think that you can (from now on) keep the Ten Commandments. But isn't it true that the best of us have lied, stolen, lusted, hated, failed to love God above all else, and failed to love our neighbor as ourselves?                                                                                                                      When Jesus said to "believe" on Him, He was saying we should have faith in Him, in the same way you would trust a parachute to save you when you jump from plane.
God loves you so much and doesn't want you to go to Hell. Neither do you want to go there, so confess your sins to God right now, turn from your sins by not doing them any more, put your trust in Jesus to save you, and you will pass from death to life. Then read the Bible daily and obey what you read. (See John 14:21). Your obedience to God is the proof of your love. Have faith in God, He will never fail you.
Pray something like this: "Dear God, today I turn away from all of my sins (name them). This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is the only way for me to be saved. He is 'The way, the truth, and the life.'" Please forgive me, change my heart, and grant me Your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen."
11/02/11
Tuesday was the first day of preaching the gospel to a small group of people located close the the mall. They all live is a small area in the bush in make shift huts and no running water.
I preached a very short gospel message to a few adults and children probably 20 or more. All prayed to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior but only God knows those who were saved. A few were Christians already.
I prayed for a few adults and they were healed immediately of many infirmities.
After the time of ministry we fed them a sandwich and drink.
I have been invited to minister at one of the lady's Assemblies of God Church and I have an open door to return any time to minister to the group of families.
Also there was a young man there who is saved already and 16 years old whom I will be training in ministry beginning this month.

Brand New Ministry Motorcycle/Scooter
This was a very quick answer to prayer as it is my only means of transport on both islands for everyday life, food and ministry.

10/28/11
There are a few new and good things that have happened. Yesterday I found after much searching the place to begin to mininister to a few poor families with over 20 children close to the mall north of Tagbilaran. Boy was I sent on many wild goose chases as I was directed here and there and there and here by the locals. By the grace of God I ended up at a pace I was familiar with and there was a small cluster of poor families. went and talked with the father of one of the families and we have planed to go Tuesday morning to do our first feeding and ministry time with the parents and children.
The purchase of the 125 cc XRM Honda for the ministry will happen tomorrow, Saturday. Dee Heilman has given $700 towards the purchase and I will us the other $900 from the savings. It would be great for the $900 to come in to pay back the savings soon.

Today I went to the immigration office for the first time and gt my first visa extension for $71 which carries me until 12/13/11. The next one will be over $150 because I need to also purchase an ID card.
Next week I am planning to venture out into the Island of Bohol to look for more people to minister to; possibly in the mountains.

10/26/11
Here are some pics and a short video of the first day of ministry in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines.
I was told many of these children and parents come down from the mountains to beg and are despised by many of the locals.
When we got to the large group I had to slow them down with a hand signal because they were grabbing at the food.
I hope and pray we can do a lot more for all these and more. Soon I will try to go into the mountains where they come from to minister.
